Perhaps because Speed Circuit has not been officially updated since 1977, I have seen a lot of different alternate rule ideas implimented for the game in groups around the world.

These are the official rules for the WBC and the rules I use for any game I am in charge of. The Avalon Hill rules found above are the basis for the modifications listed below.
Play-By-E Rules
These rules are conceived as a way to play Speed Circuit by e-mail or Web site or other remote method. The rules are based on the current WBC rules with some modifications that eliminate dice. I have also ended up using the PBeM series to play test other rule changes.
