FLOF Bowl III Preview

Hicks face Drow: 11-3 Hicks face 9-3-2 Drow. The Hicks finished the regular season with the best offense, 6th best defense, and best power ranking in FLOF. Hicks finished the season with three wins but preceeded that with 2 loses. The Hicks defeated Flannel 30 - 5 to become the first expansion team to reach the FLOF Bowl. Drow made the playoffs for the first time and won the Left Division with the 2nd best offense, 5th best defense, 2nd best power ranking. Drow ended the season 3-1-1 over their last 5 games. Drow defeated The Ladies 17 - 7 to become the fourth of the remaining five original teams to reach the FLOF Bowl.

This will be the 3rd time in 3 years that the top team in total production and regular season record has reached the FLOF Bowl. This is the second time that the second best team in total production and regular season record has reached the FLOF Bowl. FLOF Bowl III is guaranteed to produce a first time champion since neither team has reached the FLOF Bowl before. No expansion team has ever won a FLOF Bowl, but none have made it to the game before this year either. In the previous two years, the team with the best overall production and regular season record has also won the FLOF Bowl. The team with the better offense during the regular season has always won the FLOF Bowl. The team with the better defense during the regular season has never won the FLOF Bowl. FLOF Bowl winners have also been teams with good quarterback performances (7 and 12) and great running back performances (19 and 26). The losers have been plagued with poor running back performances (4 and 0) and dreadfull quarterback performances (-4 and 4). Winners have out scored losers in those two positions 64 - 4 over the last two years. While losers have outscored winners in all but one of the rest of the positions. Wide receivers: losers 21, winners 11; kickers: losers 7, winners 3; defensive front: losers 8, winners 6. Winners hold a 9 - 4 edge with defensive backs. Ed McDaniel and Terrell Buckley are the only players in this FLOF Bowl with previous experience. McDaniel played with the Ramjets last year. Buckley played for the Beavers. Neither had any impact on the game.
